This Privacy Policy provides a clear understanding of how The Farm Sitter, LLC and its affiliates (collectively, “we,” “our,” or “us) collects, uses, shares, and retains your personal information to provide services to you. This Privacy Policy applies to our sites and applications, or when you otherwise interact with us. We will never distribute your personal information, except in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

THIS PRIVACY POLICY IS INCORPORATED INTO, AND IS SUBJECT TO, THE TERMS OF SERVICE FOR THE SITES AND THE FARM SITTER SERVICES. How do we collect and use your information?

We collect information from you when you register with our site, place an order, subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, or otherwise enter information on our site as necessary to help with your experience, meet our contractual or legal obligations, protect the security of our systems or our customers, or fulfill other legitimate interests.

The information we may collect from you may include the following:

Account information, including personal information such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, date of birth, account username and password, livestock information, availability, and other account-related information you choose to provide, when you submit a job application (if you are a Service Provider), participate in a promotion, complete a survey, communicate with us via third party social media sites, request customer support, provide us with contact information for a referral, or otherwise communicate with us;
Communication information, including the content of any communications you send and receive through The Farm Sitter services, such as messages or reviews;
Content and files, including profile photos, stay photos, videos, documents, and other files you record or upload through The Farm Sitter services;
Payment and tax information, including payment information provided to us, such as the amount and type of services purchased, the date and time of a transaction, and payment card information. Payment card transactions are processed by our third-party payment processors. If you are a Service Provider, we and our third-party payment processors may also collect certain payment disbursement information to distribute your revenue from the Livestock Care Services you provide via The Farm Sitter services. If you are a Service Provider, we may also collect your tax identification number;
Identification information, including additional personal information to verify your identity or assist you with the creation of your payment account if you are a Service Provider. In the U.S., our third-party background check provider may collect your social security or social insurance number;
Usage information, device information, and location information, including the device used, the location of your device, and the pages viewed when you access The Farm Sitter sites and applications; and
Social media or other third-party information, including account information and friends lists.

All of this information may be used in the following ways:

To create and register your account on The Farm Sitter;
To provide, maintain, and improve The Farm Sitter services and our site;
To enable communications between you and other users of The Farm Sitter services;
To send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
To present you with content that is relevant to you;
To communicate with you about products and services, offers, promotions, rewards, and events offered by The Farm Sitter;
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal or unauthorized activities and protect the rights and property of The Farm Sitter and others;
To respond to your comments, questions, and request and provide customer service;
To facilitate and process transactions and send you related information, including booking and payment confirmations and tax documentation (where required);
To facilitate revenue distribution to the Service Providers and for related accounting purposes;
To conduct Identity Verification or a Background Check prior to you listing your Livestock Care Services on The Farm Sitter platform;
To create a payment disbursement account with our third-party payment processor on your behalf;
To fulfill your referral requests;
To allow you to share certain content related to your use of The Farm Sitter services with your friends, followers, or contacts on social media sites; and
To carry out any other purpose described to you at the time the information is collected.

Cookie Policy

We use browser tracking cookies (or "cookies"), which are small text files that are placed on the hard disk of a computer by a website. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a website or web server that issued the cookie to you. We also use browser "log files" which record certain information when you visit a website, including your internet protocol (IP) address. To improve your experience on our Platform, we use cookies and logs files to: recognize you when you return to our Platform; keep track of activity on our Platform and remember what items you have clicked on or viewed; study how you navigate through our Platform and which products you request in site searches so that we can improve the design, content and function of our Platform; and customize the message, content and delivery of online banner advertisements and e-mails that reflect how you navigate to and through our Platform based on your online behavior. We call this "Browsing Data". We may hire third party service providers to assist us in the collection and analysis of this Browsing Data collected through cookies, but none of your Personal Information is disclosed to these third-party service providers.

You have the ability to accept or decline our use of cookies. You can refuse cookies by turning them off or blocking them in your internet browser. If you decide to turn off or block cookies, our platform might not function correctly.

Third-Party Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in the operation of our website, conducting of our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may release information, without prior notice, when its release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. Non-personal visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

Our sites and applications and The Farm Sitter services are not directed towards individuals under 13. If you are under the age of 13, you may not use The Farm Sitter services or provide any personal information to us. The Farm Sitter does not knowingly collect or provide personal information from individuals under the age of 13. We reserve the right to immediately delete information of any individual, to the extent permitted by law, who we believe is under the age of 13.

California Residents

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of our sites who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
